Dec. 31: Ruchika Girhotra’s family has filed a case of abetment of suicide against former DGP S.P.S. Rathore.

The CBI is also mulling a similar charge, which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in jail as against the six-month term he has received. The CBI will also appeal against the light sentence.

Ashu Girhotra, brother of Ruchika, filed the complaint with Haryana police.
