She oozes more than oomph as she gyrates to the remix tune. But where are the flashy lights and the jing bang that goes with music videos? Oops, we are not shooting another remix with ?singing? siren Nicolette Bird, but merely watching her do an item number in SaharaOne?s Pepsi a.d.a.

?Cut!? yells the director as the strains of the latest remix hit, Ankhiyaan milaake, quieten down and the Bird comes out of the shoot for a breather. Shooting at the far-flung MBC studio at Chandivli Studios, Nicolette despite the dancing session looks as hot and happening as ever. Not actively pursuing any Bollywood dreams, Nicolette tells us that she goes with the flow and takes all opportunities that come to her one at a time. Interestingly, in the serial, Nicolette plays a hot Bollywood starlet who has once passed out of the acting academy and still has a real soft corner for Nirmal Pandey who runs the academy. And what is more, when she makes an entry, the students go gaga over her, much to the chargin of Deepshikha who is the co-owner of the academy.

Nicolette is enjoying every bit of her cameo and performing to her hit video remix, Ankhiyaan milaake as well. Speaking about her experience in front of the camera, she says, ?You know, on the first day of shooting, I made so many mistakes. But everyone was so understanding about it that it just put me at ease.?

As for her dancing skill, she tells us that she learnt to dance before she learnt to walk! Incidentally, even the choreographer, Melody, swears by her body movements. Having previously worked on films like Krishna Cottage and having worked under Farah Khan, Melody has now come into her own with some recent choreography assignments.

Deepshikha, who is just back after motherhood, is seen conversing with the unit. A brief chat with her, and we realise her excitement about acting and a.d.a specifically. ?The item number actually carries the storyline forward. It should make for an interesting watch.?

Interestingly, the only acting experience that the show?s special star Nicolette has had is playing the part of Juliet in her schooldays. Now the brand ambassador for Elle 18, Nicolette tells us she?s going back to her hometown (Calcutta) shortly for her English Honours exams. ?Remixes,? says Nicolette, ?give us youngsters an opportunity to get to know the great old numbers. Remixes are the best thing that?s happened to music.?

Juggling dance numbers and TV serials and academics, it?s all in a day?s work for this PYT, we guess, as we leave the place reluctantly letting Nicolette get on with her gyrations.
