NANDINI MALIA DIES AT 47

Calcutta, Sept. 13 :     Bengali actress Nandini Malia died at her south Calcutta residence after a heart attack early today. She was 47 and is survived by a daughter. In a 35-year-career, Malia starred in nearly 40 films, the most notable being Chhuti which won her the national award in 1965. She is also remembered for her performances in Malyadaan, Bisarjan and Nimantran. Dhaka bus off The Calcutta-Dhaka bus service has been suspended from Monday to Thursday, following political turmoil in Bangladesh. The situation will be reviewed on Thursday before services are resumed. Those who had booked tickets for Monday will be able to travel on the same ticket when the service resumes.
