Bangalore: The BJP's youth wing has purified a venue with cow urine to protest an event attended by actor Prakash Raj in Karnataka.
"BJP workers cleansing and purifying the stage from where I spoke in Sirsi town by sprinkling cow urine.... Will you continue this cleaning and purification wherever I go?" tweeted the outspoken actor who had earlier urged the Prime Minister to break his silence on the murder of journlaist Gauri Lankesh.
The actor had addressed a gathering of Left intellectuals at a wedding hall in Sirsi town on Saturday where he had lashed out at union minister Ananth Kumar Hegde who had recently questioned the parentage of secular citizens and bragged about changing the Constitution.
Sirsi Yuva Morcha chief Vishal Marate told reporters that the outfit believed that the place was "contaminated" by the meeting. "This venue and the entire Sirsi town have become impure after these so-called intellectuals who eat beef and denigrate Hindu gods held their programme," Marate said.
