The Lok Sabha on Monday suspended 33 Opposition members, including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, T R Baalu and Sougata Ray, from the House for displaying placards and raising slogans over the Parliament's security breach issue. As many as 45 Opposition members in Rajya Sabha were suspended from the House for unruly behaviour and disregarding the directions of the Chair after they raised slogans over the Parliament security breach issue and disrupted proceedings.

Delhi Police has written to Meta to access social media accounts of the six accused arrested in the Parliament security breach case and details of the now-deleted Facebook page 'Bhagat Singh Fan Club', where they met each other, according to sources. A three-member special team of the Delhi Police visited Calcutta and went to several places where the arrested mastermind of the Parliament security breach Lalit Mohan Jha had links during his stay here, an officer said.

Paddy fields, roads and bridges are submerged and many residential colonies came under sheets of water in several regions of southern Tamil Nadu as heavy rains, unprecedented in recent times wrecked havoc in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Tenkasi districts of the state. Due to flooding, approximately 800 train passengers were stranded in Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the world's largest meditation centre Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi. Following the inauguration, he along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a tour of the centre that can seat 20,000 people at a time for meditation.

Israeli forces battling Hamas said they had uncovered an unusually large concrete and iron-girded tunnel, designed to carry carloads of militant fighters from Gaza right up to the border. Among sites that Hamas overran in that attack was the Erez border crossing between Gaza and Israel.

The body of a youth was found hanging from one of the galleries of Eden Gardens in Calcutta, police said. Dhananjay Barik was found hanging from the upper tier of gallery-K of the stadium by one of the caretakers, a senior officer said, adding that the youth was missing since Sunday afternoon.

The government informed Parliament that Google has suspended or removed over 2,500 fraudulent loan apps from its Play Store between April 2021 and July 2022.  The matter is also regularly discussed and monitored in the meetings of the Financial Stability and Development Council (FSDC), an inter-regulatory forum under the chairpersonship of the Finance Minister.

The Karnataka government asked those above 60-years of age, with comorbidities, and symptoms of cough, phlegm and fever to mandatorily wear face masks, in the wake detection of a case of COVID-19 sub-variant JN.1 in neighbouring Kerala. The situation is being continuously monitored, and there is no need for any restriction on movement and gathering of people as of now, Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said, adding, the Government would come out with an advisory.
