She loves Yakhni Pulao and Mutton Biryani with the aloo. No wonder putting on weight is Raima Sen’s pet peeve. “I’m a foodie and I can’t give up food so easily,” says the actress. But having signed a few Bollywood films and pushed by younger sister Riya, Raima has shed a few kilos — and also some of her inhibitions — to look super hot in a yellow bikini. A t2 chat...
For a foodie like you, it must have been very difficult to lose weight. How did you do it?
Yes, it’s very difficult for me to lose weight. It took twice the effort actually to knock off only a few kilos.
What’s your present weight?
Now, I am 54kg. I had gained weight in between. I was 57kg. I was thinnest at 52kg, but that was a very long ago!
What kind of a workout regimen did you follow?
I did metabolic training (weights and cardio), sometimes I just do weights. In Bombay I run in the park either in the morning or in the evening. That’s something I really enjoy doing. It’s also about being close to nature and getting some pure oxygen. I wish I could do that in Calcutta too.

Which is your problem area?
My tummy. I put on weight around my tummy very fast and it’s extremely difficult to achieve a shapely tummy.
What do you have for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
I have an egg for breakfast. For lunch I eat rice with chicken and sometimes mutton too. I told you, I can’t control my diet! I eat everything but in small portions. But I just can’t bring myself to eat healthy. I love soups. So for dinner I try and have a bowl of vegetable soup. I balance it out by working out every day. I also try to eat before 7pm. But that’s a big problem for me!
Now that you’ve lost weight, will we see you in a bikini in films?
Not sure. Depends on the character, the film, the director. But a bikini, I will only wear for a Yash Raj banner! I do wear a bikini when I go swimming or I am on a beach abroad when holidaying.
