This film by Vidhu Vinod Chopra not only tickles our bones with its quick-witted humour but also stirs our emotions, all thanks to the cameo by Sunil Dutt. His role might be small but is very important when it comes to steering the plot. He is the sole reason why Munna Bhai sets out on his medical journey. The scene where the father and son unite will always be our favourite

Amitabh Bachchan

Movie: Delhi-6

His role: Roshan’s — Abhishek Bachchan — grandfather

Set in Old Delhi, this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film is all about self-discovery, communal harmony, love and hope. We love the short but sweet cameo of Amitabh Bachchan. He first appears in a photograph where he is referred to as Roshan’s grandfather and then we finally see him in the climax where he plays a crucial role in driving home the film’s message on communal harmony.

Rakesh Roshan

Movie: Koi... Mil Gaya

His role: Rohit Mehra’s — Hrithik Roshan —father, Sanjay Mehra.

Bollywood’s first sci-fi film did catch our attention. The trailer left us wondering about the child trapped in an adult’s body. The flashback at the beginning of the film shows how Rohit’s dad (cameo by Rakesh Roshan) dies in an accident while his mother survives, clearing the air out for us. Rakesh Roshan’s short appearance plays an important role when it comes to building up the momentum for the plot. In fact, Hrithik’s acting coupled with Rakesh Roshan’s direction summed up for a wholesome entertainment.

Stephen Friedman

TV Series: Game of Thrones

His role: A villager in GoT Season 4.

David Benioff’s creation has given us several wonderful memories and wholesome entertainment over the years. However, something surprising caught our eyes at the premiere of Season 4. One of the villagers who caught our attention was Stephen Friedman, David’s father, and we were left surprised. He is also accompanied by his real life wife on screen. Dressed as villagers, they are seen walking through the forest at King’s Landing. It’s a blissful sight to see the Friedman family collaborating on a project. Wish we could have seen a bit more of them.

Carmine Coppola

Movie: The Godfather

His role: Pianist in “going to the matresses” sequences.

Francis Ford Coppola is known for casting his family members in his films and The Godfather trilogy was no exception. Francis’ father, Carmine Coppola, can be seen playing the piano in one of the sequences in which Michael Corleone goes to assassinate Sollozzo’s allies. Carmine has also given music to the movie, making the crime thriller a collaborative family effort. The Godfather takes us into the mafia world, compelling us to look at things from the perspective of the crime world and is undoubtedly considered to be one of Coppola’s masterpieces.
