NEW WINTER MEALS ON THE BARCELOS MENU

If lamb is your choice of meat, try the Portuguese Lamb Chops. The chops are juicy and succulent and cooked in Espagnole sauce, and served with couscous and sauteed green peas. Rs 545
In search of a good Tenderloin Steak? The tenderloin is grilled till it’s tender and served with a choice of mushroom or red wine sauce, mashed potato and broccoli. Rs 545
Veg Stroganoff is  a combination of vegetables in a creamy tomato-based sauce and served with cilantro rice. Rs 345
T2 pop pick: Cottage Cheese Steak with Mushroom Ragout. The cottage cheese is marinated with salt, pepper and olive oil and then grilled and cooked in BBQ sauce. Served with mushroom ragout. Rs 325
If you want a feel of home, of warm and cosy winters, tuck into the Portuguese Lamb Stew, a creamy broth served with garlic bread.

What: New additions to the menu at Barcelos

Where: Barcelos, top floor, Acropolis Mall

On the menu: A focus on warmer foods like soups, stews and lamb chops. The menu is also expanding from a very meat-based menu to one that includes more options for fish lovers and vegetarians as well.

Restaurant speak: “Calcutta has taken to Barcelos well. Our sangrias, Peri Peri Chicken and colourful burgers are really doing well here. Since our menu has settled down a bit, we were looking to expand, hence, the new additions to the menu,” said Robin Sarkar, director of Trivia Food and Beverages, which holds the rights for Barcelos in eastern India. 

Pocket pinch: A meal for two would cost around Rs 1,200 excluding taxes.
