Hotel Hindusthan International ushered in the Christmas spirit with a cake-mixing and grape-stomping ceremony on the hotel lawns on November 3. Tolly actors Rituparna Sengupta, Abir Chatterjee and Ananya Chatterjee dropped by to pitch in, along with the children of The Hope Foundation, the NGO’s founder Maureen Forrest and some volunteers. The Tolly team lent a hand in mixing together 62kg of dry fruits and 9kg spices with 10 litres of liquor ranging from rum and whisky to Fratelli wine. The kids had fun hopping into big barrels for the grape-stomping session. “The HHI cake-mixing programme heralds Christmas and year-end festivities. This year, we invited children from The Hope Foundation to celebrate with us,” said HHI general manager Rodney Kaypee.

B’DAY TREAT: Hyatt Regency Kolkata recently celebrated its 15th birthday by hosting a range of celebrations with the hotel staff and their families, and guests, over the past few months. “This is just an amazing feeling. We were the first international hotel brand that came to Calcutta 15 years ago. We had a big cake-cutting ceremony; it was a huge day for the whole team,” said Hyatt Regency Kolkata general manager Birgit Holm, who will complete a year at the hotel in December.
