Yoga is my wonder drug. And I make sure I follow a fixed routine for meals and exercising. Everything in its natural splendour is my mantra. It is because of this that my skin and hair look healthy always. Since I do the cooking myself at home, I seek ingredients from my kitchen for my face and hair too at times. It could be the pulp of papaya, tomatoes, potatoes on my face today, or gram flour and coconut water the next. Egg yolk mixed with sour curd, methi seeds and honey go into my hair care pack. Also, my habit of oil massaging my hair stands me in good stead. Also ensure a cold water rinse for my hair at all times, even in winter. |
I am a 26-year-old woman. I wear reading glasses. Of late, the rims of my spectacles have begun to leave marks around my eyes and also on the sides of my nose. How can I get rid of these. I have combination skin.

Since you have combination skin it would not be possible to massage a natural oil or cream onto the skin. However, what you could possibly do is apply a paste of pure sandalwood to the area and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Also get your spectacles adjusted so that they don’t dig into your skin.
I am 28. I have a moderately oily scalp but dry-ish hair. I also tend to have dandruff in winters. I have heard that natural ingredients like amla, reetha and shikakai are good for the hair. However, I want to know what is the best way to use all these things, and in combination with what other ingredients, for my kind of scalp and hair? Also, can you please tell me how often I can use these without overdoing it?

You can make a hair mask by taking 2 tsp each of these ingredients. Also add powdered fenugreek to this and mix with yoghurt. Apply this as a mask to the scalp and hair. Leave on for about an hour and wash it off with a mild herbal shampoo. I remember years ago I used to watch my grandmother take amla, reetha and shikakai phalli and boil them in two to three litres of water. After cooling this concoction she used to mash it into the water and strain it. This liquid was used as a shampoo and my clearest memories of her include her silky, soft and shiny hair.
I am 26. I have shoulder length hair. My scalp is usually oily. During summer, my scalp gets itchy when I am out and I sweat. Is there anything I can do when I shampoo to get rid of the itchiness?

It is possible that you have developed a scalp infection that is causing the itchiness. See a homeopath in your area at the earliest. Also check to see that you have a clean scalp at all times.
