After reading your article on baby skin care, I want to seek your advice for my seven-month-old baby. I've noticed that she is sensitive to baby cream. We consulted the doctor and he asked us not to use any oil or cream till the baby grows older. We are following his advice, but my baby is still having ring-like interruptions on her back, legs and shoulders. This has resulted in dry skin too. Could you suggest how the baby could have a nice healthy skin.
Looking after a baby and her needs can be both very delightful and often taxing at the same time.
However, I think as a mother you should rely on your common sense and instinct. Believe me, it will take you a long way in the years to come. Since you have been reading my column, get familiar with natural moisturisers like milk, fresh cream, yoghurt and honey. These can be substitutes for oils and moisturising creams that your doctor has asked you to avoid.
Take 1 tsp of cream and gently massage the dry areas with it or just take a little milk and add to the baby's bath water. These are simple, safe and effective cures for dealing with dryness.

I believe that one needs to be positive inside to have glowing skin. I don't try to defeat the process of ageing and don't believe in superficial beauty. I do face Yoga as it helps me in working all the muscles of the face. Pranayam is the first and the last thing I do in the day and that gives me sound sleep. I also use a coffee scrub for my body once a week as it works as a great anti-cellulite and rejuvenates my skin. I prefer using natural products and use beeswax lip balms and natural products from Burt's Bee. I drink a lot of water, which helps in flushing toxins from the body. I top it up with a vegetable and nuts intake. I prefer eating fruits over drinking fruit juices.
