Suhel Seth Has An Unconventional Take On Personal Problems — And Their Solutions Published 09.09.12, 12:00 AM

I am a 16-year-old girl, ‘truly madly deeply’ in love with cricketer Suresh Raina. The fact that I can never have him in my life makes things worse. I can’t concentrate on my studies or anything I do. Please tell me how I can come out of this.

Name and address withheld

Who on earth is Suresh Raina? I only know Shah Rukh Khan who is involved with cricket or for that matter Mamata Banerjee who was the crowd controller at Eden Gardens recently. I suggest you fall in love with either wrestlers or shooters. The are only in demand once in five years and will be able to spend more time with an obsessive person like you.... if all else fails, you may also look for someone who plays hockey... just let cricketers be...

I have a unique problem. I have usually seen my friends troubled by the fact that their parents want them to pursue science while they find it too difficult. In my case I want to pursue science but my parents think I am not capable enough and hence insist I stick to commerce or humanities. How do I show them reason? I get good marks but they say that pursuing higher education with science is a different ball game.

Look, don’t bore me with stupid goddamn career questions. For all I care, you can even do home science at JD Birla and marry well. How on earth do I care about what your parents want you to do and how you are such a bright sweet cow. Look this column is for serious people with serious issues such as molestation, adultery and such like. This is not the government’s gazette so go look for some goddamn counsellor and stop wasting my time. I have a country to run.
