Sector V gets a hip party pad in Barocks Club

The island bar with 30 high chairs around it is difficult to miss. The bar top is made of onyx marble and quirky lights placed under it keep the bar lit! And the purple lighting around the elevated deck is quite an eye-catcher.

If a night-out tops your weekend plans, add another to your list of hotspots. Barocks Club, a 5,800sq ft chill zone, that recently opened doors to the night owls of the city. The brick inlay on the walls gives the place a country charm, while the surround sound stereos lend a party vibe. But why such a name? “It’s a combination of the words ‘bar’ and ‘rocks’. Most places are lounge bars or pubs but we have done a fusion of a nightclub and a pub,” said Amlan Chowdhury, director, Barocks Club.

If one side is for partying, then the other  is for chilling. There are sofas along the wall and low chairs for comfort. We love the glass bottle decoration that also serves as a divider.

This zone is perfect for gamers and bookworms. Go for a few rounds of foosball or settle down with a storybook.
 
Laser lights, funky wallpaper, lit console booth. What more do you need to get the party started? The dance floor of Barocks Club is likely to be packed, with booming surround sound from four bass speakers and six top speakers.
 
The Barocks Blast not only looks pretty but also tastes sweet with orange crush, orange juice and grenadine syrup. It’s topped with vanilla ice cream. Rs 175-plus

What caught our eye were the framed messages on the walls, the small white ashtrays with skull detailing (far left) and the wooden wine cellar (left) at the entrance.
 
The Chicken Wings cooked in barbecue and Sriracha sauce are juicy. Garnished with sesame seeds and coriander, these are packed with flavours. Rs 255-plus
 
This Tandoori Bharwan Aloo made with paneer, cheese, mawa, kaju, dhania and fried onions will keep you full. Rs 290-plus

Amlan Chowdhury with Priyanka M of MasterChef 2015 fame who is the corporate consultant chef for Barocks Club. “Good times start with good food. We have put the world on a platter. Be it indulgent Italian, flavourful pan-Asian or robust Northwest Frontier cuisine, there is something to please every palate,” said Priyanka. 
 
The Crime Master Coco is a refreshing drink that is made of coconut water, lime and mint. Rs 175-plus
