In the film industry, there is no such thing as a Sunday or Saturday off, but at times I do get lucky on weekends. And that is when I spend quality time with my near and dear ones. I always cherish returning home to be with my parents. The best part: gorging on sumptuous home cooked food with them.
I spent my childhood years in South Bombay where my parents live, but some time ago I shifted to Bandra. Living in Bandra is a lot easier as it saves time on travelling to the different studios. So whenever it is my day off you’ll find me home. My weekend evenings are reserved for watching the latest movies in the multiplexes. I make it a point to catch up on all the new releases because coming from the same industry, one needs to know what’s happening in the world of cinema.
The rest of the time, you’ll find me reading. These days I’m reading a novel by Taslima Nasreen, which is called French Lover.
Another weekend obsession of mine is hitting the gym where I work out like a maniac. But what makes a weekend memorable for me is when I take time out to participate in adventure sports like trekking or rock-climbing on the outskirts of Mumbai. I have even skydived a couple of times in the US.
Shopping is not my cup of tea, so I leave it to my mother or my friends to buy clothes for me. If I ever do go shopping, then it has to be a one-stop store, because I just don’t have the time and patience to check out different shops. But I must say, the best part about the weekend is that I get to catch up on my sleep, which is a rare treat!
