My daily routine is about managing the art department at Triveni Kala Sangam, Delhi, and teaching art. And on Saturdays I work till late at night. So Sundays are about taking it real easy. I wake up late as compared to the weekdays. I pore over the newspapers leisurely, meditate, which I often have to miss out on because of work, and then I have a late breakfast.
After lunch, I like to go and visit my mother who stays with my brother. She is over 90 years old. I stay with her all afternoon right upto evening. When I am at home, I catch up on my hobbies ? painting, photography and computers. Painting is my profession but it is my passion too. So I paint, sort out my cameras and computer files on a Sunday.
I rarely go out for movies and shopping. Instead I watch Hindi films on my home theatre system. Music is something that I listen to most of the time even while working. So even on my off-day, I relax to the music of old Hindi songs and Arabian and Western numbers. The one thing I avoid is watching the television unless there’s some news I need to watch. Anyway, one gets the newspapers the next morning.
Another favourite way of spending my weekends is to travel to the mountains. I usually go to Himachal and if I get a week or 10 days off, I take off to places outside the country. Recently I visited Alaska and Los Angeles and pursued my photography there.
At the end of the day, I make sure I enjoy whatever I do, even though it may not seem to be the most interesting thing in the world.
