Abhishek Dutta - Fashion Designer Wrapping Up Work And Spending Time With The Family Published 07.01.06, 12:00 AM

Unfortunately for me, almost all my weekends are working weekends. In fact, Saturday is the busiest day of the week for me as it’s the last working day for my production unit and all the workers have to be paid. With all that work lined up for me then, I have no choice but to get up bright and early on Saturday. Most of the morning goes at the workshop after which, I reserve my afternoon hours for clients and appointments. Evenings too are devoted to work. But after I wrap up at around nine in the night, I like to have a quiet dinner with my family, as I’m too exhausted to go partying or anything of the sort. That said however, I do like eating out. Peshawari and the coffeeshop at ITC Sonar Bangla, and Bar-B-Q on Park Street are my favourite haunts for Chinese and Continental food. I also like to experiment with new cuisines and restaurants. Just recently I sampled the fare at Cinnamon and Fusion ? and quite liked the food at both.

Sunday mornings are always devoted to a darshan at the Kalighat temple and a visit to the nearby Missionaries of Charity home. I couldn’t think of a better way to start my day really! After lunch, I usually spend time with the family ? my mom, sister and beloved dog Goldy, who’s been with us for the last 10 years now. I’m also a huge movie buff and love watching English films. But I prefer staying at home and watching these on DVD rather than going to a multiplex. I have my own personal projector, so all my friends usually hang out with me for hours watching one movie after the other.

Basically for me, a few free hours over the weekend means packing in as much as I can with my family as I hardly get a chance to be with them during the week.
