For us, weekends are never weekends as we end up working most of the time. But I generally don?t complain about it, as I?m a workaholic and get very bored if I don?t have work on hand.
If I get one or two days off, I don?t like to spend time at home. This is primarily because I stay alone in Mumbai. Therefore, I meet up with my friends and have a blast. Since I am a movie buff, I like to go out for movies and catch up on all the latest releases. This is very important in our field, as we have to be aware of the kind of work that is going on in the industry. A typical off day for me also means having lunch or dinner with close friends. Sometimes I invite my friends over at home for fish curry and rice. Though I have a cook at home, I like to treat my friends occasionally to typical Bengali fare. Since I love Chinese and Thai food, I also like to visit restaurants like Lemon Grass in Mumbai for authentic Thai and Chinese food. Another favourite place is Oh! Calcutta where I enjoy having Bengali cuisine.
I am not a party person and avoid attending parties, especially on off-days. I also like to shop till I drop on my off-days and pick up interesting stuff for myself. Another favourite pastime of mine is to play video games with my friends, which gives me quite a high. I am not a bookworm, so you will not find me reading a book when I have no work. Also I am not a holiday person and therefore I don?t like to break for long holidays. In my opinion, an ideal off-day or weekend is when you can be on your own and enjoy the little things in life.
