nAlthough I inherited a Landrover from my grandfather, my very first car, which I bought with my own money was a snow-white Ambassador. It was back in 1992 that I became the proud owner of this car ? the same year that I became a proud father for the first time too. I remember taking delivery of the car on the same day that my eldest son was born. What a feeling, bringing him home from the nursing in my new Ambassador!

Everything about the car was great ? comfortable interiors and ease of driving, although I will admit that the hand gear was a bit tiresome. Also, the Ambassador scores major points when it comes to road safety.

I sold my good old Amby in 2003 but even though today I own two other cars ? a Matiz and a Hyundai Accent ? I still maintain that no car is better suited to India’s roads than the Ambassador. My Amby served me well for 10 years and I have fond memories of it indeed.
