One of the best trips abroad I?ve ever had was to Thailand when we went to the islands of Koh Samui and Phi Phi. These are not at all commercialised which is why they are clean and minus hordes of tourists. Koh Samui is a quaint little island and the beach here is the place to be. There?s such a romantic feel to it although there?s no sight-seeing as such to be done here. When you reach Koh Samui , one should head straight for the health spa, which is situated on a hill. You get wonderful massages here. Whilst in Koh Samui, we went on a safari ride into the jungles, making our way through the thick vegetation on swaying elephants. The food at Koh Samui was also excellent. It was basically seafood and I freaked out on the prawn curry in particular. We also enjoyed the water rides as well as the street shopping here. Shopping for little things like hats and beads was such fun!

While there?s not much to do in Phi Phi, it?s still great fun. The waters are amazingly clean making it ideal for snorkelling. There?s also a rock cave that takes you beneath the sea. The best part about my Thailand trip: it was inexpensive. One can have a blast on a budget.
