aye alia: “but first..mascara!” Instagrammed Alia Bhatt recently stating her love for that magic liquid for the peepers. We heart her day-to-date look of bushy brows, nude make-up with natural lips and heavily coated lashes.
long & luscious: You are blessed with long lashes and you want to keep your eyes look natural by just accentuating them like Deepika Padukone. We suggest a clot-free mascara with a skinny wand that will just define and curl your natural lashes, making them flutter in the wind.
cool Colours: This one is for you if you are bold, fun and love experimenting. We suggest keep your overall eye make-up nude and just load up those lashes with coloured mascara like Cara Delevingne’s blue shade. Blue eyes hypnotise anyone?
that killer look: For sensuous eyes like Rihanna’s, keep your make-up nude and basic. Apply glitter eyeshadow on your lids, then curl your natural lashes with a curler and apply a single coat of mascara to make the eye make-up stand out. For maximum effect, apply a glitter shadow at the corner of your eyes.

Make-up artist Abhijit Chanda lists the do and don’t of mascara application and steps to take it off...

1Know your eyelash and what kind of look you are aiming to get. There are various types of mascara and wand (the mascara stick) in the market, so choose your mascara wisely.
2 Always apply the mascara from the root to the top. Remember, your eyelash is like a fan and you have to follow that application direction.
3 If you want to go for a more curly look, turn the wand and curl the lashes.
4If you want a clogged and spider lash effect, do a double coating so that the lashes stick togeother. If you want to get a clean look, you can make the mascara thinner by adding a few drops of eye lubricant.
5Already clogged your lashes by mistake? Fret not, use a plain mascara stick and keep cleaning up the lashes till they separate from each other.
6It is very important to let the mascara dry completely. So after application, wait for it to dry and then clean up any smudge with cotton buds.

How to remove mascara...
1. Start from the beginning and opt for a normal mascara as it is easy to take off. Do not go for the waterproof ones unless you need to swim, step out in the rain or it’s your wedding day.
2. Use make-up removing wipes. Just hold them close to your eyes and go from the roots to the tips. Start with the lower lid and then the upper lid.
3. You can also use a cotton ball with baby oil or Vaseline. Take some Vaseline on your fingertips and rub it gently on your lashes till the mascara comes off.
4. Finally, use a cleansing wipe or a damp cotton wool to remove any trace of mascara.
