In the wake of the fight for freedom, Inquilab Zindabad became the war cry of the youth of India. On April 8, 1929, Bhagat Singh and B.K. Dutt threw a bomb in the Central Legislative Assembly “to make the deaf hear” as described in the leaflets that showered the hall. The explosion, deliberately made harmless, was a protest against the repressive Public Safety Bill, Trades Dispute Bill and the arrest of 31 labour leaders. The two young men allowed themselves to be arrested, even when they could have escaped, only to use their court appearances as a forum to rekindle revolution. There are cricket icons who inspire the youth of today... there are stories from history too. Drink the fountain of inspiration.
