Over a 100 years ago he said: “We have to change the criteria of beauty”. Ten years ago she said: “It’s important to remember that we all have magic inside us”. The “he” was Dhanpat Rai, Munshi Premchand. The “she” is J.K. Rowling. Both these authors, who helped us look at our world in newer ways, share a birthday today. Premchand said that there is beauty in the woman working in a field, perspiring and tending a child at the same time. And isn’t this reality magical? That is what J.K. Rowling has done for us. At the age of six she wrote her first story about a rabbit who gets measles. It is indeed so beautiful to love the little things we come across in life.
