Denims are everywhere this season. And street styles are ruling denims.

Jan-Michael Quammie is a global trend-setter. The fashion director of InStyle Germany, with her unkempt hair and dark glasses that hide a pair of sharp eyes, is the iconic model for the flared jeans with square holes in them, which she has popularised to a great extent from last year.

There was something rebellious about jeans always, since James Dean wore them in the movie Rebel Without a Cause. It is still being ripped, torn, shredded and acid-washed like no other fabric.

The Parisian label Vetements, appears to be making classic pairs of jeans, but when looked at closely they reveal seams gone deliberately awry and uneven edges.

Meghan Markle, a lover of jeans, often wears them torn at the ankles or ripped. But otherwise, too, street styles are deciding matters. The cropped look is in. As are the wide-legged ones.

Wide-legged jeans are dominating the trends. After the tyranny of skinny jeans for long, the wide-legged is being quite a lot. The width of the flare can start go up to 20 inches! Our eyes may take a while to get used to these jeans!

Denim jumpsuits are also everywhere, for women particularly.
