Bhangra and gidda tunes to dance to. Jalebis and pakoras to feast on and lots of adda… the Lohri celebrations at The Saturday Club on January 13 was all about spreading the cheer. A traditional bonfire warmed the celebrations further. “May the festivities bring good tidings to all. We had performers from Punjab… an evening of nach baliye! We had about 200 members and guests,” said Renu Kapoor (inset), member, entertainment subcommittee.

New beginnings: Bhangra and gidda tunes to dance to. We had about 200 members and guests,” said Renu Kapoor, member, entertainment subcommittee.

Fashion designer Vasavi Daga Shah (left) dropped by with would-be sister-in-law Saachi Bhasin. “This was my first experience of Lohri. Saachi was explaining the customs to me. We danced a lot and walked around the bonfire,” said Vasavi.
