Habits die hard. Some trends too. Recently www.glamour.com listed a few fashion trends from 1998 that still rule. Here are some of them …

The strappy mini-dress. Think Mariah Carey. Or Jennifer Aniston.

Super-strappy sandals. Jennifer Aniston again, in Friends. The strapped-up tall things she stood on linger.

Micro-floral print dresses: Soft, demure, feminine, they go on.

Small, symmetrical sunglasses: Think J. Lo. Look around. The glasses are hanging on on many faces.

Micro bags: The small, compact thing, often in bright shades that dangled from ladies’ arms? Little power packs. Oprah had endorsed them. Now big labels are making them again.

Flowy white tops: The kind that was gathered around the neck, billowed in the middle and then settled down again around the waist, with the sleeves loosely flowing. No, they have not retired. Often seen with jeans.

Logo mania. Remember Dil to Pagal Hai? (The year was 1997, but that it is just one less than 1998!) Indian had just begun its romance with brands then, and it still persists. Logo-splashed casualwear is everywhere still.
