Calcutta, April 7: Starwood Hotels & Resorts and ITC Limited have renewed their partnership in the hospitality segment and announced the inclusion of three new hotels under The Luxury Collection brand in India, including one in Calcutta.
An agreement has been signed between the two to renew their partnership for 11 ITC Luxury Collection hotels and one hotel under the Sheraton brand. Also, three new hotels - ITC Kohinoor in Hyderabad, ITC Narmada in Ahmedabad and ITC Royal Bengal in Calcutta - will be part of The Luxury Collection brand in India, thus increasing the total inventory to 15 hotels over the next four years.
"This long-standing partnership between the two companies came into being in 1979 with the Sheraton brand. In 2007, both companies had signed an agreement through which Starwood introduced The Luxury Collection brand in India, which at present stands at 11 hotels," ITC said in a statement.
"An association with Starwood Hotels & Resorts for around four decades bears testimony to this commitment and we are pleased to further strengthen our alliance with three upcoming ITC luxury hotels in Calcutta, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, which will be an archetype of the culture and region they are located in," said Nakul Anand, executive director of ITC Limited.
"Starwood is experiencing a strong growth momentum in India with the signing of new hotels in the past 12 months. India remains one of our fastest growing markets and much of our success can be attributed to our long, collaborative partnership with ITC," said Thomas Mangas, chief executive officer of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.
