Forex kitty soars

MUMBAI: The country's foreign exchange reserves rose $503.6 million to a lifetime high of $424.86 billion in the week to April 6, aided by increase in foreign currency assets. In the previous week, the reserves had surged $1.83 billion to $424.36 billion. It had crossed the $400-billion mark for the first time in the week to September 8, 2017, but has since been fluctuating. PTI

Cargo policy

• NEW DELHI: A policy to provide thrust to air cargo will be drafted soon as it will fuel the growth of the aviation sector and boost the economy, civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu said on Saturday. He said the success of the aviation sector was completely propelled by the participation of private players, adding that infrastructure for the movement of air cargo could be created in the same way.
