Aptech bags Bajaj order

Aptech Ltd has bagged an order from two-wheeler major Bajaj Auto Ltd to implement dealer management system at the latter’s dealer locations in the country. The IT company, however, did not disclose the value of the order. It would provide content conversion facilities, visit dealer locations and install dealer management system, train the auto major’s EDP staff on effective utilisation and put up helpline for a certain period, an Aptech release said.

BoB dividend

Bank of Baroda today presented a cheque for Rs 68.60 crore as dividend to the government. The 35 per cent final dividend cheque was presented by the bank’s chairman and managing director P. S. Shenoy to finance minister P. Chidambaram, a bank statement said. While the bank has already given Rs 58.80 crore as an interim dividend, the total payout by the bank for 2003-04 stood at Rs 127.40 crore.

Karur Vysya

Karur Vysya Bank has implemented the real time gross settlement (RTGS) system that became operational from July 2. RTGS, which enables payments and settlements on real-time basis for inter-bank transactions, would be extended to its retail customers too. Necessary infrastructure for implementing RTGS has been established at its data centre located at Tidel Park, Chennai.

Indian Bank

Indian Bank and Corporation Bank have signed an agreement to share their ATM network, giving their customers access to an additional 800 ATMs across the country. The Chennai-based Indian Bank has a network of 104 inter-connected ATMs in 32 centres situated in 14 states across the country. Its existing ATM network-sharing agreements with Andhra Bank and the SBI is providing access to 7,200 ATMs already.

Sun Micro

Sun Microsystems, a global information technology major, will supply its enterprise-class high-end servers to telecom service provider Tata Teleservices Ltd, in a deal estimated to be valued at over Rs 100 crore. The deal involves deployment of Sun Fire SF 15k servers for mission critical applications, Sun Microsystems India director (telecom), Kapil Sood said.

IDBI move

Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) has selected Hewlett-Packard and NSE IT Ltd combine as end-to-end IT solution provider to set up its infotech infrastructure, for which the bank has earmarked an outlay of Rs 35 crore. H-P and NSE IT, a subsidiary of the National Stock Exchange, are expected to put in place an IT backbone, expected to be completed by October 2004, IDBI sources said.

Ford plan

Ford India has launched Cargainz, an innovative customer loyalty programme, under which all customers, who serviced and maintained their cars through authorised dealers, would be rewarded. Ford India vice- president (marketing) Vinay Piparsania, said the company would also launch its 24-hour roadside assistance for car owners soon.
