Calcutta, Aug. 23: The ITC board will meet on August 28 to consider a proposal of demerger of non-engineering business, comprising safety matches and agri (forestry) businesses of subsidiary firm Wimco Ltd, to be merged with itself, a filing with the BSE said. ITC along with Russell Credit Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary, holds 98.21 per cent in Wimco.

NSEL crisis

New Delhi, Aug. 23: NSEL members paid Rs 8.10 crore to the beleaguered bourse as the second pay-in started today, even as the exchange has to settle investor dues of Rs 174.72 crore in the next tranche of payment on August 27. Of the 24 members, five have paid Rs 8.50 crore so far.

Tata Motors

Jamshedpur, Aug. 23: Tata Motors will keep its Jamshedpur plant closed for three days, starting from August 29, a company sources said today. The closure is aimed at preventing unnecessary build-up of inventory in the company as well as dealers, sources said.
