Tata Motors sales leap

Mumbai, Jan. 5: Tata Motors notched up sales of 26,253 vehicles during December 2003, a growth of 67.3 per cent over 15,695 vehicles sold during the same month a year ago. Sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market rose 54 per cent to 15,007 units during December 2003, compared with 9,742 units sold a year ago, a release said.

OBC dividend

Mumbai, Jan. 5: The board of Oriental Bank of Commerce has approved a 20 per cent interim dividend for 2003-04. The payment of the interim dividend was subject to the approval of the Centre and the Reserve Bank. The record date for the payment of interim dividend is January 20.

Indian Hotels

Mumbai, Jan. 5: Indian Hotels Company is planning to raise long-term fund of up to $150 million through various instruments, including foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB), public issue or private placement. The company has convened an extraordinary general meeting on January 27 to seek shareholders' approval for raising the fund.

Aircom buyout

New Delhi, Jan. 5: UK-based Aircom International has bought out the 49.5 per cent equity shares of erstwhile HCL Perot Systems from their joint venture — Aircom HPS Wireless Services.

Rallis issue

Mumbai, Jan. 5: Rallis India, a Tata-group company, will make a preferential allotment of shares worth Rs 90 crore to investors on private placement basis.
