Bad bank opposed
• New Delhi, April 25: Coming out strongly against the setting up of a bad bank, NITI Aayog vice-chairman Arvind Panagariya today said private asset reconstruction companies could do a better job in tackling non-performing asset. The advisory body also pitched for taxing agriculture income to broadbase the tax net. "A bad bank is a difficult thing to do... Public-owned ARC is often called the bad bank. Private-owned ARC ultimately can be more effective," Panagariya said.
