Street children lit up everyone’s faces on Saptami in BF Block. About 30 children put up two dance performances that entertained residents and visitors alike. The children were trained by the local branch of the dance school Twist ‘N’ Turns and the dance programme was organised by them as a part of their 10th anniversary celebrations.

“We will select the best two dancers from here and will train them further at our dance academy for free,” said Nikita Sangai, the creative director of Twist ‘N’ Turns.

The children danced to the tunes of Sree Ganesha from the film Agneepath and Dhaaker Taaley Komar Doley from Poran Jay Jolia Re. In the end, Gobinda Mondal and Mintu Kumar Mondal were declared the winners.

“It is heartening to see so many kids dancing so well despite the fact that they come from a very difficult background,” said Indrani Dutta, wife of mayor Sabyasachi Dutta, who was the guest of honour.
