Covid-19: Ten held in hookah bars in Bhowanipore

The state government has ordered all bars, including hookah bars, to close at 8pm as part of the efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus

Two hookah bars in Bhowanipore were raided on Wednesday night and 10 persons arrested for violating Covid restrictions imposed by the state government.

Around 100 people were allegedly in the two hookah bars together when police reached there. “Most of them fled,” said an officer.

The state government has ordered all bars, including hookah bars, to close at 8pm as part of the efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

“We have asked for CCTV footage of the bars,” said an officer.
