Calcutta: Uber launched a service named Premier in place of UberX on Friday.

Premier, the app cab company says, is a better product than UberX. A rider opting for Premier will get "specially selected sedans", which will come with cushions, car perfumes and mobile chargers, a company spokesperson said.

The Premier fare is: a base fare of Rs 52.50 plus Rs 9.45 per km plus Re 1 per minute. The fare might increase if the demand is high compared with the supply of cars. "The rates are similar to that of UberX but the product is superior," said an Uber spokesperson.
