Alipurduar, Sept. 29: This Puja, visitors to the Dooars can get a taste of ?wild nightlife?.

With the growing popularity of the south Khairbari eco-tourism centre in the subdivision, forest officials have decided to set up jungle tents for tourists. After a safari through the leopard enclosure and a coracle ride down the Buri Torsha, visitors can spend the night in tents. So far, the place had the provision for day trips only.

?We are going to set up three jungle tents on the bank of the Buri Torsha, a tributary of the Torsha, flowing through the tourism centre. The tents will be equipped with all sorts of modern amenities,? said Manindra Biswas, the divisional forest officer of Cooch Behar. ?The double-bed tents will be available at Rs 500 per night.? The tents will be ready before the Pujas.

?The new coracle rides on the Buri Torsha will also be a crowd-puller. Very popular in south India, the round-shaped, bamboo paddle-boats will take tourists down the stream through the tourism centre,? Biswas said.
