Calcutta: The newly laid pitch at Eden Gardens will be put to the test when Bengal take on Sikkim in the Vinoo Mankad (U-19) Trophy from Tuesday. Another match is likely to be held on the wicket before the Test ver- sus Pakistan from November 30.

The new rain rule (VJD method) will be used in this tournament.

A couple of Sikkim players, meanwhile, have alleged that the cricket association has included players from outside the state while dep- riving home-grown talent in exchange of monetary gains.
