New Delhi: Indian boys ensured a quarter final berth after beating Philippines in a group tie of the world junior tennis championship in Melbourne Tuesday.

Arnav Jain defeated Pablo Alivarez 6-1, 6-2 before Agnel Gladwin beat Ralph Kevin 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 to give India a 2-0 victory over Philippines, according to information received here.

The girls team registered a 2-0 victory over Indonesia with G. K. Sweta beating Lutfiana Aris 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 and Ashmitha Easwaamurthy winning 6-3, 6-3 against Miasacca Panji. (PTI)
