Calcutta: Yuvraj Singh’s mother, Shabnam, has rubbished the news put out by a TV channel that the star all-rounder had plans to meet ace Lance Armstrong on Tuesday.

“No, it’s not true. Yuvi has not even spoken to Lance,” Shabnam SMSed The Telegraph from Boston, around 8 pm IST.

The 30-year-old Yuvraj is undergoing chemotherapy at a cancer facility there and isn’t expected back home before the end of next month.

Earlier in the day, a TV channel quoted Yuvraj’s father, Yograj, as saying that he’d be meeting Armstrong.

Yograj and Shabnam divorced years ago, with Yuvraj choosing to stay with his mother. Each has been a pillar of strength for the other.

Yuvraj is, of course, drawing inspiration from the champion cyclist.

Armstrong overcame testicular cancer between 1996-98 and has authored a best-seller — It’s Not About The Bike — My Journey Back To Life.

It’s understood that Yuvraj is reading Armstrong’s super hit autobiography. In fact, it’s not unusual for him to be engrossed in books which motivate.

Indeed, some years ago, Yuvraj had eyes only for Robin Sharma’s best-seller, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari.
