This yellow-orange georgette leheriya skirt from Moha Atelier with vibrant stripes, zardozi and sequinned hemline, is paired with a full-sleeve white shirt for a smart and fuss-free Shasthi morning look. The pastel-coloured choker neckpiece and a pair of small dangling earrings from Kulthiaa Jewel glam it up. Fresh and light make-up highlighted by beige-pink lips, taxi-yellow eyes and peach blush, add to the simplicity of the Indo-western look. The puffed-up ponytail gives a contemporary-retro touch.
Designerspeak: “Leheriya is a traditional Jaipur design which used to be done in tie-and-dye but we did it in weave for this skirt. Since it is for Puja, the shirt gives a modern, contemporary look to the lehnga outfit. The idea is to carry on the fun all day long, from work to Puja celebrations in a single outfit,” said Priyanka Singh, founder and director, Moha Atelier.
Richa amped up the style quotient for Saptami in this multicoloured printed and embellished raw silk lehnga paired with a raw silk neon green blouse and a green-blue shaded net dupatta from Rhea S Studio Boutique (from Nagpur). The scalloped hemline is embellished with gota work, lace detailing and tassels. Heavy layered neckpiece from Kulthiaa Jewel, shiny make-up with trendy green eyeshadow and pink lips, and a low side bun add the festive glam touch to the look, accessorised with a fresh lotus hairband.
Designerspeak: “The neon green colour gives a peppy touch to this slightly westernised Indian look, a confluence of traditional and contemporary style. The dupatta enhances the entire outfit, making it perfect for a festive day wear,” said Rhea Sharma, designer and owner, Rhea S Studio Boutique.
The traditional Ashtami morning look is kept minimal and dazzled up with a light pink crepe brocade sari from Turaja. The sleeveless blouse adds a stylish touch to the look, complemented with traditional gold jewellery from Anjali Jewellers and glossy make-up in shades of pink and gold. The bindi and the hair tied up in a simple bun add the traditional touch.
Designerspeak: “This crepe brocade sari captures the inheritance of our heritage perfectly and makes for a great traditional festive wear,” said Devendra Goel, owner, Turaja.
Richa chanelled a classy look for Navami evening in this spandex net wine-coloured embellished high-neck draped outfit from Sansa by Pooja Kapoor, designed with cutdana embroidery embellished kimono trail on one side. A pair of diamond earrings and bracelet from Kulthiaa Jewel accessorise the look. Dewy and shiny beige-brown make-up with matte lips and black-and-wine eyes, mohawk hairstyle in the front with curls at the back, enhance the glam vibe.
Designerspeak: “This draped outfit in an Indo-western fusion style and a vibrant colour makes it a perfect festive wear. The antique embellishment adds a festive vibe. It is not a one-time wear and can be worn as an occasionwear too. Our brand forte is less is more, so minimal embellishments make it wearable during this pandemic time too,” said Pooja Kapoor, owner, Sansa by Pooja Kapoor.
Richa decked up completely traditional for the Dashami glam look in this vibrant yellow-orange and pink Benarasi sari with all over zari work, from Nameg. Draped in the traditional aatpoure style, full-sleeve zari blouse, heavy traditional gold jewellery from Anjali Jewellers lend the perfect traditional glam that the last day of the Pujas demand. Shiny make-up with copper-and-black smokey eyes, fuchsia lips, bindi and hair tied into a stylised bun, complete the look.
Ownerspeak: “The vibrant colour of the Benarasi sari blends in perfectly with the festive mood. The look is very gorgeous and traditional. Though it is a Benarasi, it is not heavily designed like a wedding sari, making it perfect as a festive wear,” said Meghali Barua Lahiry, one of the owners, Nameg.
