Dhanbad: The Lone state run engineering institute of Jharkhand, BIT Sindri welcomed over 650 B Tech students offering lessons in academics, morality, social responsibility of technocrats and ways on maintaining good mental health by coping stress.

The occasion was the induction session of B Tech students during which retired IAS officer, Chhatrapati Shivaji who is also a BIT Sindri alumnus addressed the students during the programme held on virtual mode and exhorted them to put their 100% effort in all activities be it academics or family, social and national responsibilities.

He dished the guru mantra of effective management of daily routine for achieving success in life and said, “Everybody in this universe gets 24 hours daily but those who manage these 24 hours in better manners prioritizing their work and responsibilities achieve success in all walk of life while others could not indulge in blame game holding fate or family of society responsible for their failure.”

He further said that an engineer has an important role to play in the nation making. The first session of programme during the chief guest address was held was conducted by faculty members Bhavesh and Komal.

Dhanbad: Amidst the power cut row there is some good news as power producer DVC has come up with industry friendly face offering direct connection of over 100 KVA capacity to industries revising its earlier policy or providing direct connection to only such industries having over 500 KVA load requirement.

Applications for allotment of connection in this regard are already being received by DVC from industrial customers in different districts including Bokaro, Ramgarh etc.

Confirming the development, Apurva Saha, Public relation officer of Damodar Valley Corporation, Maithon said, “Yes downgrading has been carried out with regard to load capacity requirement for direct connections to industrial consumers for the convenience of industries. This will help the small industries as they will get uniterupped power supply through direct connections.”

Mahesh Kejriwal, owner of rubber roll industry at Balidih industrial park of Bokaro Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) who is also the president of Jharkhand Industries Association (JIA) said, “On-line applications are being accepted for the direct connections and large number industries of Balidih have already applied for same.”

He further said that a camp has also been organised by DVC at Ramgarh only on yesterday during which many of the industrial unit orders applied for the direct connection.

Welcoming the development, Prabhat Surolia, President of Bank More Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Dhanbad said, ,”The DVC move will spur the development of many new industries as many of prospective investors were desisting away to establish their units apprehending lack of regular power.”
