Ranchi: Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society (JSDMS) on Tuesday launched the revamped Hunar portal that puts skill development activities of all departments and a labour market information system on one platform.

"It's now a comprehensive portal that is useful for all stakeholders," said JSDMS CEO Amar Jha.

Earlier, the portal was used only for marking the attendance of trainees of skill development programmes and providing information of ongoing training programmes and placement situation, he said.

"Now, it has been developed as a labour market information system portal which will benefit all stakeholders such as beneficiaries, trainees, training service providers and employers," said Jha.

Those in the age group of 18-35 years and interested in undergoing skill development training in a particular trade can register on this portal, choose the nearest training centre and also see placement opportunities, Jha said.

Training service providers can also keep track of which department is providing what kind of training and where, he added.

Even employers can monitor ongoing skill sessions and conduct placement drives after completion of the programme if they need to hire people skilled in a particular trade, Jha said.

The employers can also upload information about the offers, he added.

"Anyone can access the portal and can get an idea about the skill development efforts by the state government and the placement scenario," he added.

He said Aadhaar data of trainees, their mobile numbers and salaries would not be displayed on the portal.

The old portal will stop functioning from September 24 and the MIS (management information system) data stored there will eventually be transferred to the newly revamped portal, he added.

This portal will be particularly helpful as the government plans to offer 1 lakh jobs on the next National Youth Day on January 12, 2019, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
