One injured in robbery attempt at Damodarpur

Armed criminal entered the house of Kamta Prasad, a shop owner in Damodarpur locality which falls under Dhanbad Sadar Police station late last night. With an agenda to loot the wealth, the criminals attacked the family members, leaving one seriously injured.

The eldest son of the owner was seriously injured in the incident. He was initially admitted at the Sahid Nirmal Mahto Memorial Medical College and Hospital. But given his critical condition, he has been referred to RIMS Ranchi for better treatment..

According to Prasad, five masked criminals wielding daggers entered his house last night at around 10 pm and carried out loot till around 11.30 pm. During this period of time they even attacked his family members. His son was injured during this attack. .

He further said, “We informed the police last night itself but they reached the spot only this morning.”

Divulging more details to the media about the five criminals who entered the house by breaking the main gate, he said that the attackers took all the family members under their custody, following which his wife was asked to handover the almirah keys.

"They also took possession of my son's mobile phone. During the scuffle to snatch his phone, my son was attacked with a dagger,” said Prasad. He added that the robbers took away all the jewelleries of his wife and some cash while leaving the house.

A team of cops that reached the site this morning took details of the incident from the house owner and his wife. They even spoke to the neighbours. The team has collected some forensic evidence from the site and are raiding the area to nab the criminals.

Talking to the media, Sanjeev Tiwari said, “We have launched an investigation. We have some clues based on which we are trying to arrest the criminals.”
