Ranchi, Feb. 13: Registrations for the much-awaited Global Investors' Summit (GIS) have picked up pace, thanks to the publicity blitzkrieg that has managed to generate considerable buzz among investors and delegates both within Jharkhand and outside.
If GIS officials are to be believed, the number of registrations stood at 8,000 till the time of filing the report compared to with 4,000 last week.
Eight sectoral seminars will be conducted during the two days (February 16-17) on urban development & smart city, infrastructure development, Make in Jharkhand, mining & mineral development, IT/ ITeS, electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) & start-ups, agriculture and food processing, higher & technical education, skill development & healthcare and textile & footwear.
According to data from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), around 4,569 people have already registered for the seminars and the figures may increase.

"Sectoral seminars will take place on both days. We have come up with four dedicated halls where the sessions will be conducted during two halves of the day after the inaugural ceremony on February 16," a source said.
"Those who have registered online will get barcoded ID cards. Entry to any seminar will happen solely through barcoded cards as the gates won't open otherwise," he said, adding that it is a measure to manage the chaos in seating arrangements at the last moment.
