Ranchi, Oct. 23: The director of Amitabh Bachchan-Hema Malini starrer Bhojpuri film, Ganga, Abhishek Chadda is planning to shoot his next Bhojpuri film in Jharkhand.
Chadda today arrived here along with his music director Ashok Ghayal to explore locations for his next project, Bhai Ho To Bharat Niyan, in which popular Bhojpuri singer Bharat Sharma “Vyas” is slated to play the lead role.
Others in the cast include Ajay Sharma, Ghayal and Rani Chatterji.
Chadda, accompanied by local Bhojpuri personalities, including B.N. Tiwari, Uday Sahu and Chandra Mohan Kapur, visited different locations such as Khunti, Murhu, Panchghagh, Dasham Falls. The team would go to Jamshedpur tomorrow to survey locations.
Speaking to the mediapersons about locations in the state and his next movie, Chadda said: “I have no hitch in calling Jharkhand as mini-Kashmir, as the nature has bestowed immense beauty on this land. I was overwhelmed by the scenic beauty and captured them in mind with a view to shoot particular sequences of my next movie. We are tentatively ready to start the shooting around November 5.”
Does Jharkhand hold any potential for a Bhojpuri movie? To this Chadda said for some Jharkhand might have been separated but “we still consider Jharkhand as a part and parcel of Bihar”.
“You can distance yourself from your mother, but cannot afford to separate yourself from her. The same is the case with Jharkhand, which remains as much the heartland of Bhojpuri as a Bihar town.”
