Jamshedpur: Ahead of Jamshedpur Football Club's first home match here on Friday, jersey sellers from Calcutta are making some fast bucks on Straight Mile Road near Keenan Stadium.

The home team will take on Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) at the JRD Tata Sports Complex at 8pm.

The vendors, who reached here on Thursday, have priced the jerseys between Rs 150 and Rs 200.

"We make team jerseys for fans of all teams and sell it in various cities. But there's a norm that we follow. We only sell jerseys of the home team. In steel city, we will only sell JFC jerseys. Had the match been in Calcutta, we would have sold the ATK outfit," said Kinkar Biswas, one of the vendors.

The group also makes jerseys for cricket and Pro Kabaddi League fans.

According to Biswas, the jerseys being sold here are a perfect copy of what JFC players wear during the matches. "We get the designs from the Internet. We study it minutely before printing it. Although there is a great demand for manufacturing the jerseys in different sizes especially for children, we currently have one size," said Bapi Mistry, another seller.

Anima Sports in Bistupur is the official team jersey seller. "We will sell it on Friday at Rs 400 a piece," store official Sunny Das said.

JFC fans, however, don't seem too keen on shelling out Rs 400 for the jersey. "Roadside jerseys are cheap and looks good. I bought two for Rs 300," said Shivraman Kumar, a pathology lab owner.

"My friends and I were planning to buy jerseys but didn't know where to get it. I spotted the roadside vendors on Thursday and bought one. I have told my friends to head to Straight Mile Road to grab one," said Shaurya K, a college student.
