Young IPS officer of 2010 batch Y.S. Ramesh took charge as the new SP of Bokaro district on Wednesday from DIG Shambhu Thakur who was holding this additional charge for the last 16 days.

The posting of new SP was done after 16 days of transfer of former SP A.Vijayalaxmi who was shunted after 24 coal dumpers of BJP MP from Giridih was put on fire at Bermo on 24th July. Ramesh was earlier posted as Koderma SP.

Ramesh said he is aware of the problems in the district. and will control it with iron hands. "I have to put brakes on the urban crimes as well," the new SP said.
