IAS aspirants need to understand how to prepare their minds to crack the IAS exams and get to their next level of success. The prerequisite is discipline and the will to go under the grind each day and work consistently towards one's goals in the process.

  • Pick multiple sources: It is always advised to never rely on only one text source; that way, students will only end up having a limited source of knowledge. It is recommended to depend on multiple such sources that help them broaden their mindsets. The preparation for the Prelims is quite extensive, and in such cases, students must choose smart studying, where they can keep one book as their base for highlighting the important points while looking for different books and notes for gathering all those important points and information.
  • Pay attention to time and resource management: For helping aspirants in IAS, there have emerged enormous sources, books, and resources, but all do not lead them towards the knowledge they seek to crack the exams. Hence, it is essential for students to act smart here and pay attention to time and resource management, which is possible by picking the right books, notes, and resources and anything that they think will work the best. This will allow them to get ahead in a focused manner.
  • Create a realistic schedule: Only preparing a schedule, which later can be tweaked or changed, is not a schedule one must rely on. Students need to keep in mind that preparing for the IAS and cracking those exams is not something that can happen overnight. Individuals need to create a realistic schedule that they can trust and follow and, most importantly, stick to. People need to complete tasks as designed for the day and do not delay them for the next day as this will then continue getting delayed, not helping them eventually in any way.
  • Choose the right friends: It is essential for individuals to surround themselves with people who support and encourage them in their journey. Having the right set of friends or family members can help students gain the right dose of motivation and support always, which goes a long way for them in their journey.
  • Honesty is the best policy: Preparing for UPSC is something a few attempt to clear for years; hence, it is advised to stay real and, most importantly, honest in one's preparations. It is essential to do this for themselves as that will keep them motivated to give their best.
