Rahul Gandhi disqualified as Lok Sabha MP after conviction: Opposition holds protest

Parliament on Friday disqualified opposition Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi as a lawmaker after a Surat court found him guilty of defamation and sentenced him to two years in prison, according to a Parliament notice. Over 30 opposition MPs, including those from the Congress, were detained as they took out a protest march from Parliament House, alleging that democracy is in 'danger' and demanding a JPC probe into the Adani issue.
