TV actress Sarnakamal (picture left) has landed two plum projects with Swapan Saha where Prosenjit is her co-star. “I have finished shooting for Rajkumar, where I play Bumbada’s (Prosenjit) sister. The role has slightly negative shades. She is after the family property.... And after completing this film, Swapanda called me to say that I am the heroine of his next film, opposite Bumbada!” said Sarnakamal.
Shooting has begun for this untitled film, which also stars Rachana Banerjee and Abhishek Chatterjee. “Here, I am a simple girl called Kajol, who has an ailing brother to look after. But there is a twist in the story. I am actually opposite Abhishek Chatterjee but the audience will think that I am Bumbada’s girl.”
Sarnakamal’s big-screen journey began with Jibansaathi last year where she played the second lead opposite Oriya superstar Anubhav.
“There weren’t any offers after Jibansaathi and I resumed working in serials and telefilms. Then I got an offer to act in Lal Ranger Duniya, which also features Debasree Roy, after which Swapanda offered me Rajkumar. If I keep getting film offers, I will think twice about continuing my TV career,” she smiled.

Summer love
The Bengali version of Erich Segal’s Love Story is slated for a July 4 release. Starring Jisshu Sengupta and Koel Mullick as the ill-fated lovebirds, Love (picture left) is the third film to be directed by Riingo. It has been produced by Shree Venkatesh Films.
Jisshu plays a rich Hindu boy who falls in love with Koel, a Christian schoolteacher, in Love. “Love was supposed to release early this year but we delayed it for a proper multiplex release,” said Riingo, who had earlier made Kranti and Neel Rajar Deshe.
