When Jaidip Sir calls, we all turn up because we are family and this is what family does,” said Sania who loves coming back to Calcutta. “People love their sports and their sports people here. You actually feel the love in the air when you come. I have some great memories from here... from the junior days and nationals to later playing the WTAs,” she said.

T2 CAUGHT THE FRENZY AT THE LAUNCH OF FOREVER 21

Fashion fever gripped South City Mall on December 22 as high-street fashion label Forever 21 opened its first store in the city. The ground level of the mall was already full of eager shoppers as early as 3pm who waited patiently till singer Papon inaugurated the store at 6.30pm and followed it up with a performance in the mall atrium.

Shoppers queued up to gain entry into the store, and no matter how long the queue was, there were smiling faces all around.

The Forever 21 team hooted and cheered as Papon inaugurated the store with Rahul Jhamb, brand head-India, Forever 21, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. “Fashion for me is actually an extension of one’s personality. Sometimes you go with the trend and sometimes you become it. I personally love the young styles and cuts at Forever 21. In fact, whenever I have shopped at any of their stores I have noticed that they also have a very interesting playlist, it’s fresh and young, and they tie up fashion with music, which also explains why I am here,” smiled the Humnava singer.
“I went in with my gang and we were lucky enough to have waited just 45 minutes before the store opened. I am a huge lover of the accessories at Forever 21 and ended up buying quite a few for myself. The guys in our gang opted for jackets and cool tees,” said
Darshana Dhanani who posed mid-shopping with friend Rounak Saboo.

EATING AND LIVING HEALTHY WITH YFLO

After recounting how she started her organic journey with Nourish Organics, Seema also spoke about her belief in spirituality and made the YFLO members meditate for three minutes at the end of the session. “Speaking to these women about eating organic food and living healthy was very enjoyable. These tips really have good results and I am glad that YFLO invited me to be a part of this,” said Seema, who is a former YFLO Delhi chairperson.

As women rush through their daily lives with a million responsibilities, they often forego consideration for their health and well-being. Seema Jindal Jajodia, who runs Gurgaon-based online organic food company Nourish Organics, drew attention to the importance of eating and living healthy despite our busy lives at YFLO presents Wok with Vintage Asia and Talk with Seema Jindal Jajodia, at JW Marriott on December 11. This was followed by chefs Sudip Misra and Tan Kwang Aik of Vintage Asia — the Asian restaurant at the star hotel — teaching the audience how to whip up easy, healthy and delicious Asian dishes. Snapshots...

I loved the session with Seema where she shared her experiences and guidelines to stay fit, which can be used in our daily lives. And I can’t wait to whip up the new dishes too!

Seema’s speech taught me how one can consciously start eating and living healthy and it does not take much to do that. I am not a cook, but through the cooking session conducted by Vintage Asia, I can now cook all these yummy meals for my son.

The main thing I learnt from Seema was to leave out dairy and dairy products and replace them with almond milk. The cooking workshop taught me how Asian dishes can be cooked and enjoyed using less oil and how we can work around the veggies.

Chefs Sudip Misra (left) and Tan Kwang Aik of Vintage Asia held a workshop where they taught the YFLO members how to stir up Wok-tossed Mushroom and Asparagus, Tom Yum Soup, Jasmine Rice and more. “On Shilpi’s request, we created an Asian menu for the workshop and we kept a buffet with the same dishes so that they understand the flavours and techniques as well. Today’s women do not have much time on their hands, so we kept it simple enough for them to be able to cook the dishes at home,” explained Sudip.
